The Credit Assistant's responsibilities include data entry, contacting customers and fulfilling clerical duties which may include filing, credit releases, credit and references, research and other supporting credit activities determined by the Credit Manager.


  • Coordinates to the set-up of new accounts in Customer-Master File, directly or via dedicated software, and follow-up on updates.
  • Proactively checks periodically the VAT numbers from the whole portfolio and liaises with accounting department to ensure compliance of VAT declaration.
  • Gathers information and reports from Financing Partner and checks, in cooperation with accounting department, costs related to the financing programs.
  • Follows-up on returns and credit notes with other departments, consignment, PPAR problems.
  • Supports as back-up for daily credit approval related to orders on hold and weekly billing to our customers.
  • Performs cash application on assigned customers’ accounts and performs monthly reconciliation of trade accounts receivable.
  • Supports for payment of overdue accounts: contact people by phone, email or letter to inform them of an unpaid account and determine reasons for non-payment.
  • Follows-up of letters of credit, direct collection, insurance and bank guarantees.
  • Provides support to the customer regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolves client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Ensures daily administration of financing program (Floor Plan mainly) on assigned customers' accounts.
  • Assists the manager for the reporting according to SOX rules and Delegation of authority.


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably 2 years’ experience in an administrative role (in a Finance department preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Office (Excel, Word)
  • Fluent in French and English, Dutch and German at moderate level, any other language is a plus
  • Clear communication skills
