The General Accountant will ensure the timely and accurate reporting of accounting records with US-GAAP and Brunswick accounting policies and will perform in detail the following tasks:

  • Ensure, that the day-to-day accounting operations of entities under the Brunswick Marine in EMEA structure are performed in accordance with established Brunswick accounting policies
  • Contributes to develop, review and improve Financial Processes in compliance with company policy and support the establishment of accounting policies
  • Accountable for the timely and accurate completion of the following tasks:
    • Booking of AP supplier invoices (inventory and non-inventory), including investigation of any variance and proper approval
    • VAT and import declaration handling / reporting / reconciliation
    • B/S reconciliations, including Inter-company reconciliations
    • G/L entries
    • Clearing accounts movements
    • Salaries, fringes and statutory reporting
    • Ad hoc questions or reports (Internal or BC)
    • Ensuring a proper cut-off for supplier invoices and determine the accrual needed for items received but not invoiced yet
  • Manage the closing (monthly & yearly) operations for the local entity
  • Ensure the day-to-day payroll administration (holidays and absences, communication with external parties, statutory reports, etc.)
  • Coordinate the Purchase Requisition and Mobile Expense system


The roleholder brings the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar educational background
  • Experience: five to seven years in a comparable role, preferably in a multinational company
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong US-GAAP knowledge
  • Has excellent attention to detail as well as problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
